Shirley Rodriguez (also credited as Shirley Miranda-Rodriguez) is a New York-based photographer specializing in campaign photography and editorial portraits, particularly of innovative artists and BIPOC trailblazers. As a media producer, she specializes in developing strategic and poignant campaigns for non-profit organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions; successfully telling their stories in order to recruit, fundraise, celebrate milestones, share their mission, and bring light to important causes.
Shirley's photography has appeared in numerous publications & magazines (including The New York Times Online, Latina, Crain, Siempre Mujer, El Diario, Metro, Hispanic, Urban Latino, Vibe) and commercial campaigns for Olay, Fruit of the Loom, CoverGirl, Girl Scouts of the USA, Pantene, Isaac Mizrahi and HBO's New York International Latino Film Festival for a campaign which won the PromaxBDA Award for outstanding achievement in entertainment marketing and design. She has also produced work for the City of New York including the New York City Department for the Aging, the Department for Social Services, and Small Business Services for the City of New York. SIn 2022, Shirley was awarded the Puffin Grant to support her upcoming project “The ‘ME’ in America” and was selected as one of 10 artists commissioned to produce a mini-documentary for The Small Business In America series.
Shirley is co-founder and Creative Director at Create The Remarkable, Inc., a full service production company specializing in social impact videos, campaign development and, of course, photography. Deeply rooted in the community, Create The Remarkable prides itself in helping non-profit organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions tell their stories in order to recruit, fundraise, celebrate milestones, share their mission, and bring light to important causes.

Holds over 20 years of professional experience as well as expertise in capturing and working with underrepresented communities. With extensive experience in both digital and analog photography, has also developed curricula and taught photography and filmmaking at prestigious institutions such as the Tribeca Film Institute, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, and the Brooklyn Children’s Museum.
