The contact sheet is a condensed chronicle of a photoshoot, traditionally showing all of the images shot on a single roll of film during a photo shoot. This single, enlarged portion of a 120/medium format contact sheet, serves as a photographic artifact capturing the essence of a 2008 photoshoot with Miguel Algarin, one of the founders of the Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe. In exploring the contact sheet, viewers get a glimpse of the energy he portrayed throughout the shoot, particularly in how he expressed himself when given the opportunity to do so in front of a camera rather than on a page.
